 Letters to a stranger

Eric Bessel and Shawn Stucky

Messages come in many forms. An embrace, a whisper, a folded note, a text message. Sure you can hug someone with your eyes closed. But can you write a letter... to a stranger?

Participants will sit down at a table with a pen, a sheet of paper, and a postmarked envelope to a stranger, picked from a pre-populated list. They will be blindfolded, and instructed to write a short letter to their new pen-pal, in 10 minutes.

Participants must trust that what they are writing is indeed what the are thinking. When the 10 minutes are up, the letter will be taken away, folded, and sealed - to be mailed the next business day.

It's not a matter of how you say it, it's who you are and what you're saying.
