56 Informational Derive
Contemporary geographies have come to be overlaid, augmented, and reimagined with the introduction of digital information networks. What does it mean, then, to apply the notion of psycho-geography amidst this new information-infused reality? We propose to challenge city inhabitants to an informational derive. Unplanned, unregulated, with out clear intentions, abandoned city news boxes (once key dissemination spots of information vital for city function) will be refurbished to offer blank spaces of non-information. Painted entirely white, offering blank white magazines, devoid of information, yet full of meaning - to be created, debated, challenged, and abandoned. A challenge to encourage the mind to drift on urban street corners.
