64 [here][now]
[here][now] is an ongoing exploration of the real and the virtual in the context of urban space.
We begin with workshops. We ask people to draw their personal perceptions of space. In groups, we overlay these ways of seeing to find shared experiences. Participants extract common elements and translate them into generative 3D forms which create an augmented reality that is overlaid onto the street itself -- architectures of concepts.
For Conflux we will present [nyc][2010]: a mobile augmented reality unit in the backseat of a 1985 Chevy Caprice station wagon. We will give 15 minute driving tours to groups of 3-4 people, circling the perimeter of the festival. During the tour, viewers will draw and discuss to create forms that will populate a 3D world -- creating a virtual corridor around the festival.
