A native of Wisconsin, Matthew Slaats completed his MFA and MA at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2005 and his BA in Archaeology at the University of Evansville in 1999. His artistic career reflects a vast array of interests, in particular social practice, interactivity, performance, installation, video, and sound. His work has been seen at the Kitchen, Flux Factory, and the Harlem Studio Workshop in New York City, with recent shows in Chicago, Reno, Richmond, and the Philippines.
