An aesthletic event that engages the historical landscape of North Brooklyn
Come play a new game(never before played) called straightjacket softball( similar to softball but with a twist). The competing teams will be the past and and present inhabitants of Williamsburg: The United Sugar Refiners Health and Temperance Society versus the Northside Fitness Center art collective. Uniforms will be provided, sneakers advised. Skill level is low, all encouraged to play regardless of abillity. There will also be some performances and some food and drink. Uniform accoutremonts or adding any other performative or documentary aspect to the game is encouraged. Game time is 5:30pm. There will be some cars at The Change You Want to See to shuttle participants over starting at 5.
Location: McCarren Park Softball field #1, North 12th St. and Bedford Avenue, take L Train to Bedford Avenue, walk up Bedford to North 12th St.
Conflux is the annual NYC festival for contemporary psychogeography where international artists, technologists, urban adventurers and the public put investigations of everyday city life into practice on the streets.
