Join Eve Mosher to create optimistic graffiti, part of global project, Insert ____ Here. We’ll start with a short presentation and then venture into the city armed with tools for urban development – both functional and fantastical.

Insert ____ Here is a global project which encourages communities to find opportunity and optimism in the face climate change, overcrowding, peak oil, food shortages and all the other challenges we face on a changing planet. With the simple tools of “Insert _____ Here” post it type arrows, a black marker, digital cameral and access to the web, participants explore and suggest alterations to their neighborhoods. From functional, to fantastic, the project uses imaginative thinking as a catalyst for urban change.

The workshop will begin with a short presentation on the project, followed by heading out into the city to post your own “Insert ____ Here” ideas. Please bring a black marker & a digital camera (phone camera is fine). Materials are also available throughout the festival for self-guided participation. Participation can also occur online at www.Insert-Here.org

Eve Mosher is an artist and interventionist living and working in New York City. Her works use investigations of the landscape as starting points for audience exploration of urban issues. Her public works raise issues of involvement in the environment, public/private space use, history of place, cultural and social issues and our own understanding of the urban ecosystem. Her work has been profiled in international media including the New York Times, ARTnews and Le Monde. She has received grants from New York State Council on the Arts, the New York Department of Cultural Affairs and The City Parks Foundation.
